Mamata completes fourth padayatra

KOLKATA: Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee today took out padayatra for garnering support for upcoming Assembly poll. It was her fourth padayatra. Banerjee accompanied with a large number of Trinmul supporters started from Gariahat constituency and marched through Jadavpur, from where chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is contesting. They also visited several parts of Ballygunj, Kasba and Tollygunj. Manish Gupta, a former state chief secretary, is contesting against Bhattacharjee on a Trinamool Congress ticket from Jadavpur. A large number of people came out from their residence greeted Banerjee and wished for Trinamul’s victory, a senior Trinamul leader said. The six-phase Assembly polls in the state will begin on April 18.
