Seminar to popularize ‘Sama Veda’



KOLKATA: Sri Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Samskrita Siksha Samsad organised a two days long seminar on ‘Sama Veda’ at Turiyananda Hall at Golpark Ramkrishna Mission Institute of Culture on 25 March. Dr Suresh Kumar Bandyopadhyay, registrar of the Sri Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Samskrita Siksha Samsad said erudite and professors, who are experts on the Veda arrived to participate in the ‘national seminar’ and delivered their speech. Dr Bandyopadhyay said a lot of people are interested to learn Veda but the study on Sama Veda is being neglected so the ‘Samsad’ organised the seminar to popularise this subject. Dr Gopal Mitra, president of the Sri Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Samskrita Siksha Samsad, vice chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati professor S. Sudarsana Sharma, Secretary of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda-Vidya Pratisthan, professor Roop kishor Shastri delivered their speech on Sama Veda and explained why ‘Sama Veda’ should be learned in this era. Dr Bandyopadhyay said Sri Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Samskrita Siksha Samsad first organised such kind of seminar on ‘Sama Veda’ in India and world also.
